  一、妇女、天人也。或化而为夜叉。善女也。或化而为蛇蝎。流萤也。或化而为蜂螫。其恒为天人。为善女。为流萤。为芬芳馥郁之花。终其身而不变者。亦往往有之。视护持之者技俩如何耳。

  二、神之造妇女也。取材於男子之肋骨。此业方终。妇女即趋归男子之所。而取其遗体。至今犹保存之。

  三、夫女子虽非为发号施令而生。然其天赋之权能。足以统驭发号施令之男子。最善良最和乐之伉俪。其妇人每最拥威权。计从而言听也。

  四、任人之欲若何完善。惟不经女子之纤手所琢磨。祗一粗粝金刚石耳。

  五、世间男子凡三种。有置身诱惑而抗之者。有惧其陷溺而避之者。有进而求之者。其以恋爱为人生第一义者。惟於第一种男子中见之。

  六、常誉妇人之男子。非知妇人者也。常毁妇人者。亦终不知之。

  七、男子衡量妇人。其所见恒不得当。妇人窥测男子之性质。失之者鲜也。

  八、不见爱於所爱之人。大不幸也。然爱汝者为汝不爱之人。其不幸尤甚。

  九、余非谓独身善於婚配。第决其便利者。未婚之人。一旦自悟其非。即可弃其独身生活也。

  十、女子之知男子之爱己也敏於男子。女子之直觉力。锐利过於眼光。实天赋女子之第六感官。其他五种感官合而一之。亦不若是之有力也。

  1.Woman is an angel who may become a devil, a sister of mercy whomay change into a viper, a ladybird who may be transformed into astinging-bee.

  Sometimes she never changes, and all her lifitime remains angel,sister of mercy,ladybird. and sweet  fragrant flower. It depends agreat deal on the gardener.

  2.The Lord took from man a rib, with which he made a woman.  As soan as this process was finished, woman went back to man, and took the rest of him, which she has kept ever since.

  3.Women were not born to command, but they have enough inbornpower to govern man who commands, and,  as a rule,  the best andhappiest marriages are those where women have most authority,  andwhere her advice is oftenest followed.

  4.A man may be as perfect as you like, he will never be but arough diamond until he has been cut and polished by the delicate handof a woman.

  5.There are three kinds of men: those who will come acrosstemptations and resist them, those who avoid them for  fear of suceumbing, and those who seek them. among the first are to be foundonly men whose love for a woman is the first consideration of theirlives.

  6.Men who always praise women do not know them well;  men whoalways speok ill of them do not know them at all.

  7.Men study women, and form opinions, generally wrong ones, womonlook at men, guess their character, and seldom make mistakes.

  8.It is a great misfortune not to be loved by the one you love ;but it is a still greater one to be loved by the one whom you ceasedto love.

  9.I am not prepared to say that celibacy is preferable to marriage;it has, however, this decided advontage over it: a bachelor alwayscease to be one the moment he has discovered that he has made amistake.

  10.A woman knows that a man who in love with her long before hedoes. A women's intuition is keener then her sight; in fact, it is asixth sense given to her by nature, and which is more powerful themthe other five put together.

  [上帝取Adam.之肋骨造Eve.事见旧约创世记。俗传女子肋骨廿五。 较男子多一条云。as a rule=susally. wrong ones=wrong  opinions.  celibacy ispreferable(宁取)to marriage. 与其结婚宁取独身之义。over it 之it。 乃marriage 之代名词。before he does.=before he knows. nature=天然]
